Tausha's sugar cookies

1 1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup margarine or shortening or butter softened
Two eggs
3 T sweet or sour cream or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring

3 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt


Gradually add sugar to shortening and beat till fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add cream and flavorings. Stir in flour and soda and salt and mix well. Chill.

 Roll to a 1/2-1/4 inch thick and cut out using cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased baking sheet for for 69 minutes at 400°

Mom's orange chocolate chip cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 ounces of cream cheese
Two eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
Cream shortening, sugar,  cream cheese. Add eggs, orange juice, rind.  Sift flour, salt and add. 
Stir in chocolate chips. Drop on cookie sheet and bake 10 to 20 minutes at 350.  

Frost with icing.

Icing: 
One package 3 ounce cream cheese
1 teaspoon orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
2 cups powdered sugar
Gradually stir in sugar and cream cheese. Stir in orange juice and rind
